Installation

Installation requires opening your iPod and replacing the original hard drive with the flash adapter board. Suitable opening tools are recommended. Handle the ribbon cables and connectors carefully.

For iPod 3rd and 4th generation models, use the supplied interface ribbon cables. For iPod 5th–7th generation models, the existing hard drive ribbon cable is compatible, except for the iPod Classic 6th generation 160GB, which uses a narrow ribbon cable. This model requires a compatible replacement ribbon cable, available separately from us.

After installation, restore your iPod using iTunes or Finder before syncing your music.
