Retro Refresh – Terms of Service & Store Policies

Welcome to Retro Refresh. By purchasing from our store, you agree to the following terms, conditions, and business policies. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

1. Domestic Shipping Only

Retro Refresh operates and ships strictly within the United Kingdom (UK). We do not accept international orders or ship to addresses outside of the UK. All orders are processed and dispatched within one working day using secure packaging.

2. Custom Builds Policy

• Non-Refundable: All custom-built iPods and bespoke modifications are tailored specifically to order and are strictly non-refundable. We do not accept returns or issue refunds for custom builds due to a change of mind.

• 3-Month Custom Build Warranty: Every custom build comes with a 3-Month Warranty from the date of delivery. This warranty strictly covers the new replacement parts installed by Retro Refresh during the build process.

• Warranty Exclusions: The warranty does not cover issues arising from accidental damage, liquid ingress, software corruption, user modification, or faults developed by any of the client’s original components that were reused in the build. If a fault develops with an installed part within the 3-month window, we will repair or replace the component under warranty.

3. DIY Parts, Hardware, and Component Sales

We supply a variety of component parts for DIY repairs. It is the buyer’s sole responsibility to ensure parts compatibility with their specific iPod generation prior to purchase.

• Installation Risk & Liability: Retro Refresh supplies components only and does not guarantee a successful repair outcome. We are not liable for any damage caused to the purchased parts or your personal device during the installation process (including, but not limited to, torn flex cables, broken logic board clips, or stripped screws).

• Clearance / Untested Items: Items explicitly listed as "untested," "as-is," or "clearance" (such as budget hard drives) are sold with zero guarantee regarding internal health percentages, sector counts, or long-term reliability. These items are subject to statutory UK distance selling laws regarding returns, but cannot be returned on the basis of a functionality fault that was explicitly disclosed as a known gamble in the listing.

4. Returns and Refunds Policy (Loose Parts & Stock Items)

For all standard stock items and loose parts, Retro Refresh operates in strict accordance with UK consumer rights and distance selling laws:

• Faulty Items: If an item arrives dead on arrival (DOA) or develops a manufacturing fault, you are entitled to a return, replacement, or refund. Retro Refresh will cover the cost of the return postage for verified faulty items.

• Change of Mind: If you change your mind, you may return any unused, uninstalled stock item within 14 days of delivery. The item must be returned in its original condition (e.g., faceplates must still have their protective plastic film intact). For change-of-mind returns, the buyer is entirely responsible for the return shipping costs.

5. Modification of Terms

Retro Refresh reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time to reflect updates in our stock offerings or changes in UK consumer law. Your continued use of our services and store constitutes acceptance of these terms.
